Vibsorb Vibration Absorption Pad

The bearing pads shall be manufactured of all new (unused) materials and composed of multiple layers of prestressed 50/50 cotton-polyester blend duck, 8.1 ounce per net square yard, duck warp count 50 ± 1 threads per inch and filling count 40 ± 2 threads per inch, impregnated and bound with a high quality, oil-impervious nitrile rubber compound, containing rot and mildew inhibitors and anti-oxidants, compounded into resilient pads of uniform thickness. The pads shall withstand compressive loads perpendicular to the plane of laminations of not less than 10,000 psi before breakdown.

Vibsorb Vibration Absorption Pad with PTFE is the same Cotton Duck pad with the addition of a virgin layer of PTFE bonded to the pad surface.

Shimmed Elastomeric Bearings

Benchmark provides neoprene and natural rubber elastomeric bearing pads to provide structural support in bridges, as well as in commercial and industrial buildings, and petrochemical and power plants. These parts, depending on the type of elastomer, provide uniform load transfer, accommodate thermal movement, allow for end-beam rotation and isolate components of the structure against vibration, noise and shock. Benchmark produces both AASHTO-grade neoprene and AASHTO-grade preformed fabric pads. These can also be supplied with filled PTFE bonded to them for use as the lower element in a slide bearing, which will provide both the longitudinal movement and rotation required.
Natural Rubber Elastomeric Bearings

Benchmark Stocks plain and shimmed bearings are available in standard Shore A durometers of 50, 60 or 70 based on state and/or AASHTO Code, Section 18, natural rubber or neoprene. For economy, a commercial grade is also available.
PTFE-surfaced neoprene-backed slide bearings are also available. Type CSA material is recommended bonded to a 10-gauge steel laminate which has been bonded to neoprene.
If minimum dead load pressure is less than 200 psi, it is recommended that the elastomer be epoxy-bonded to concrete. If being welded on steel, an 8 gauge tack plate is recommended for positive reinforcement and ease of application. The maximum temperature at a neoprene bearing is 200° F.
Random Fiber Reinforced Bearings

Vibsorb ROF PAD will substitute for neoprene in areas where vibration or heavier loads are present. The random fiber material is well suited to concrete construction as a cost-saving alternative to neoprene or preformed fabric pads. Type TTC materials may be provided with holes, slots or PTFE surfaces.

These all purpose bearing pads have high grade virgin PTFE bonded to them to add a low friction layer to the bearing surface.

Vibsorb PTFE Slide Bearings are typically a 2 part assembly. The upper section is Stainless Steel bonded to carbon steel and the lower section is Vibsorb PTFE bonded to Carbon Steel.

Vibsorb Waffle pads are used typically for lathes, drills, milling machines and more. Waffle pads can be bonded to a wide range of thickness's and Benchmark will typically include steel shims to control shape factor.
